Our Mission and Vision
This is a bit personal...
I remember trips in my youth when my dad organised trips with his buddies to places like Sodwana, Mapelane, Dwesa, Mbotyi, Mozambique...
The memories of those trips are etched in my memory bank... I can recall the fun, adventure, excitement, happiness... I can remember the laughter and the good times. The night time fires, the 4x4 challenges, the dreams of catching big fish.
I can relive those trips in my memory banks... old photographs... but the desire to keep searching for those adventures remain...
A friend from my younger years back on the main continent, a Pastor by day, but an explorer by heart and nature, told me on many occasions that it is noted in the Bible that man, as created in the image of God, has an inbred desire and instinct to explore, be adventurous and give expression to the primal instinct of hunting for survival.
No matter how domesticated we as men get, with ponytails and earrings... deep down we all long to be a Kingsley Holgate, the Adventurer...
although... most of us are just a Dick Thomas from suburbia driving a beefed up ute, who gets aroused when trying to spin the wheels in the morning in front of the house leaving for work or school drop off... thinking... 'man I'm wild...'
I'm a firm believer that getting out there... no matter where it is, but somewhere where the sun shines on your face, the wind tickles your nose and the stars sprinkle their dust on you at night... that is where you find yourself... where you heal... where you realise you're alive.
As men we need to challenge ourselves... we need to explore and 'survive'... we need adventures where we can look back into our memory banks and say to ourselves... 'damn, you're a bloody legend!'...
That's what this trip is about... creating memories... reminding you that you are a Legend!
